The No-Bid Pledge
By joining The Fair Search Coalition, you agree to:
- Not bid on the branded keywords of other coalition members in your Google Ads campaigns
- Upload the shared negative keyword list to your Google Ads account monthly
- Provide accurate branded keywords for your organization
What You Get
As a coalition member, you receive:
- Protection from other members bidding on your branded terms
- Access to the shared negative keyword list
- Monthly updates on coalition growth and changes
Eligibility
The Fair Search Coalition is open to:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
- Organizations with active Google Ads or Google Ad Grants accounts
We reserve the right to verify your nonprofit status and remove members who don't qualify.
No Guarantee
While we do our best to maintain an accurate and complete negative keyword list, we cannot guarantee:
- That all members will comply with the no-bid pledge
- That the list will prevent all brand bidding (competitors outside the coalition may still bid)
- Any specific reduction in your advertising costs
The coalition is a cooperative effort, not a guarantee of protection.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Actually uploading the negative keyword list to your account
- Keeping your contact information up to date
- Notifying us if your branded keywords change
- Honoring the no-bid pledge
Removal from Coalition
We may remove members who:
- Violate the no-bid pledge by bidding on other members' branded terms
- Provide false information about their organization
- Are not legitimate nonprofit organizations
You may also leave the coalition voluntarily at any time by emailing us.
Limitation of Liability
The Fair Search Coalition and Boland Solutions are not liable for any damages arising from your participation in the coalition, including but not limited to changes in advertising costs, lost donations, or actions of other members.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms as the coalition evolves. We'll notify members of significant changes via email.
